April Showers!

Welcome to APRIL! In the northern hemisphere it often means lots of rain, which inspired this song, "April Showers", which encourages us when, even though the skies may be cloudy, always keep hope that the rains will stop and the sun will come out again.

Life is not a highway strewn with flowers
Still it holds a goodly share of bliss
When the sun gives way to April showers
Here is the point you should never miss

Though April showers may come your way
They bring the flowers that bloom in May
So if it's raining have no regrets
Because it isn't raining rain you know, it's raining violets
And where you see clouds upon the hills
You soon will see crowds of daffodils
So keep on looking for a blue bird
And list'ning for his song
Whenever April showers come along

And where you see clouds upon the hills
You soon will see crowds of daffodils
So keep on looking for a blue bird
And list'ning for his song
Whenever April showers come along

Anita and Riikka created the most diverse projects featuring "April Showers" for us. The meaning and imagery behind the projects is truly creative and inspiring! First up: How cute is this umbrella filled with flowers? Anita's cut designs are always so popular, and we love that she added another one, a gorgeous umbrella, to this project which promises sunshine and flowers after the rain!

Next up is this gorgeous card by Riikka. We love the creativeness behind the clouds and rain! How perfect for a friend who is going through a rough time. We can all use our craft to encourage one another. "When I saw the glimmering blue crystals of Heaven Sent 2, I though about dew or raindrops! So, for this theme, I turned my idea into a little card. Some clouds, made of watercolor paper, are raining crystal drops! To add to the rainy feel I created a puddle in the background using watercolors, and added drops also using a turquoise Metallique paint." ~ Riikka

"Who will be there when the skies turn grey? Turisas, you can count on us!” I did a bit different take on the April showers theme! The first line as well a the title of the page comes from the lyrics of my favorite band, Turisas. And skies usually are grey when it rains and pours. Naturally the lyrics don’t mean it literally, but still." ~ Riikka

I wanted to use blues and blacks in the page to keep it in the theme of rain showers and grey clouds. St. Tropez seemed like the perfect fit with the grungy papers and good colors. As the band is Finnish heavy metal, I just needed to add a lot of metal to the page in form of embellishments.

Riikka's layout has such a moody feel. I just love how she created that out of Prima papers and elements! Simply brilliant! Coming up tomorrow we will have even more beautiful inspiration for you!
