The Cutest Little Projects

Ready to kick off today with a little design inspiration? We challenged our team to mix traditional papercraft and mixed-media products with new [re]design home products. Scary?? Maybe a little! The result? New types of gorgeous products to play with, but on a smaller scale, opening up a whole new world for us traditional scrappers! (Plus watch Ola's video on how to create your own chalk-like paint!)

This set of chargers is brilliant and so unique! How pretty would they be on your table? "The plates were painted with gray and white chalk-like paint. Next I cut a transfer apart  to use the flowers on multiple chargers. (The whole plate does not need to be covered.) I also decorated the napkin by applying fabric paint over the stencil." ~ Marta

Have you seen the new re-design 3D stencils? They are incredible! They give a lot of dimension to your projects and are perfect for any project (home decor, mixed media, scrapbook …). To alter this bottle, I used the 3D stencils with graphite texture paste. Then I added moulds and gave an aged look with the new waxes. ~ Vero Atienza

[re]design + Prima products:

OlaKhomenok-Prima-teal-altered-frame.jpg

The [re]design with Prima products will work on literally ANYTHING! Try to them to alter a frame like Ola did here! To make a frame I chose a deep-edged canvas, detached the canvas fabric and got a nice wide wooden frame. I covered the frame with white gesso and stuck on a few mould prints. Than I added a layer of Gesso again. ~ Ola

Because I don’t have any chalk-like paints in my stash, I decided to make one by myself. I’ve mixed Impasto Jade paint with white gesso (1 part paint : 2 parts gesso) and some water (just to make the mixture more fluid.) I got a beautiful soft teal color chalked paint. As a final touch I added Diamond Dust wax. For the inside I used a beautiful Redesign stencil “Believe” + Impasto Jade, which was mixed with Modeling Paste. ~ Ola

altered pot by Anita Bownds (1).jpg

i absolutely loved altering the pot, it was a fun and the perfect decor idea for a indoor plant for my bathroom using [re]design moulds, clay, and those gorgeous waxes.~ Anita

Kasia used a Prima stencil, [re]design waxes, moulds, paper clay, and a 10" wood plate to create this gorgeous charger or home decor piece! How beautiful her table will look with this handcrafted piece to dress it up...and when it is not in use Kasia can hang it on her wall!

See? [re]design products are not so scary anymore, are they? Today we took large-scaled products and made them work for much smaller-scaled projects...and each one was just STUNNING!  I really hope you have enjoyed the DT's creative use of [re]design products for smaller pieces around their home! Now it is your turn! Which product are you dying to try?

Also, watch our media below for even MORE projects, like the gorgeous altered flower pot above by Nadya!
